The Department of Community Medicine, established to enhance medical education and public health, began its MD program in 2008 with 2 seats per year, currently expanded to 5 seats annually. By 2024, a total of 29 students have successfully completed their training, benefiting from a curriculum designed to address the evolving needs of healthcare.
A distinguishing feature of our department is its commitment to preventive medicine and health promotion. We emphasize public health education and training, enabling students to engage in community-based research and fieldwork that directly impacts local populations.
Our interdisciplinary approach integrates various aspects of healthcare, including health management training and a strong emphasis on both rural and urban health. We focus on family-centered care, ensuring that students understand the importance of addressing health needs within the context of the community. This holistic approach not only equips students with essential skills but also fosters a deep understanding of the social determinants of health, preparing them to become effective leaders in public health.
