On August 29, 2024, the Santosh Innovation Council, led by Dr. Mahendran C.S., visited the Medical Incubation Unit at GIMS Noida from 10 AM to 5 PM. Our team was warmly welcomed by Dr. Rahul Amritraj, who provided an insightful introduction to the incubation cell and its infrastructure. One of the highlights of the visit was interacting with the "Matri" team, known from Shark Tank for their innovative menstrual pain-relieving device, dubbed "Pad Man 2.0." Founders Roni and Rohan shared their inspiring journey, detailing their transition from selling electric bulbs in West Bengal to making significant strides in medical devices showcased on national television.
Following this, we explored an ongoing project at POCCET LABS led by Dr. Abhinav Gupta, who emphasized the importance of internship programs in fostering innovation. Our discussions continued with Dushyant Singh Chauhan, CEO of Health Travo, focusing on the latest advancements in medical innovation. The visit culminated with a meeting with Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, Director of GIMS Noida, who encouraged further collaboration between our institutions.
Key discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration in driving innovation, suggesting that startups, being dynamic and agile, benefit from collective growth. The feasibility of a hub-and-spoke model linking GIMS Noida with Santosh Medical College was proposed, with the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding.
