A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on the study of human nutrition and the role of diet in promoting health and preventing and treating diseases. The program typically takes four years to complete and requires a high school diploma or equivalent for admission.

The curriculum of a B.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics program usually includes courses in biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, psychology, and statistics, as well as specific courses in nutrition and dietetics. These courses cover topics such as macronutrients and micronutrients, metabolism, nutritional assessment, dietary guidelines, food science, food safety, community nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and nutritional counseling.

The program also includes supervised clinical practice, where students get the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in real-life situations under the guidance of experienced professionals. This helps them develop their clinical and communication skills and gain practical experience in working with patients with various nutritional needs.

Graduates of a B.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics program can pursue careers as registered dietitians, clinical nutritionists, food service managers, public health nutritionists, and nutrition educators. Eligibility Criteria:

 

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology/ Biology including English
  • An equivalent qualification from a Recognized Board.

  • B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is a 3 year full-time (+ 12 months internship) degree program administered by Santosh Deemed to be University.
  • This unique graduate program is organized as a four-year structured modular curriculum with classroom and hand on experience in managing healthcare delivery at the Santosh Medical College Hospital.

Dietitian: A dietitian is a healthcare professional who specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of nutritional problems.
