The Department of Microbiology is at the forefront of research and education, committed to delivering exceptional care and ensuring a safe environment for patients. With prestigious NABL accreditation and ISO certifications (9001 and 21001), our laboratory upholds the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Our faculty has contributed significantly to the field, with over 70 publications, 18 of which are in peer-reviewed journals, alongside 3 copyrights, 2 patents, and 2 authored books. We actively engage in over 50 ongoing research projects, employing advanced technologies such as Real-Time PCR, Chip-based Rapid RTPCR, BacT Alert, and Vitek systems.
The department offers comprehensive microbiology courses across five programs—MBBS, BDS, MD, MSc, and PhD—enrolling more than 300 students. Our commitment to innovative teaching and learning methods ensures that students receive a robust education, preparing them to excel in their medical careers and contribute to advancements in microbiology.

CO 1: Describe the normal flora of human body and describe the host microbe relationship along with microbial physiology and genetics

CO 3: Enumerate the pathogenic organisms and describe their mode of transmission and pathogenesis of diseases produced by them.
