Founded in 2006, the Department of Psychiatry is dedicated to addressing mental health through comprehensive education and care. Currently offering 4 MD seats, we have successfully trained 25 students by 2024. Our department stands out with a strong focus on mental health, emphasizing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
We adopt a holistic approach, considering biological, psychological, and social factors in our treatment plans. Our range of therapeutic techniques includes psychotherapy, medication management, and interventions such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for severe cases. Interdisciplinary collaboration is key to our practice, as psychiatrists work alongside psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists to deliver integrated care.
Additionally, we are committed to research and education, aiming to advance the understanding of mental health disorders while preparing the next generation of mental health professionals. Our efforts are geared toward fostering a healthier, more informed society.
