There is a dearth of talent and leadership to drive this change across the healthcare industry. This has been achieved through visionary leadership, strong emphasis on standardized processes and guidelines, accreditation, audits and continuous improvements. This framework underpins all aspects of work and culture. Based on this felt need, and the need to scale up and contribute to nation building, a unique new course has been developed extensively covering theoretical and practical aspects of running quality and safety programs in a world class setting. The program will be delivered through didactic sessions, practical learning, bed-side teaching and mentored by the most experienced mentors. Students will be participating and collaborating with diverse multi-disciplinary teams and will understand the role of leadership and clinical governance. The two-year degree program will provide advanced insights in the subject of quality and safety, build leadership skills including problem solving and critical thinking, and position the students in leading roles in the hospital quality management program. They will have the confidence to teach junior student and staff, to do complex data analysis, develop new programs and conduct research in identified elective subjects.
