Overview

The Department of Biochemistry at Santosh Deemed to be University is a well-established academic and diagnostic unit dedicated to imparting high standards of postgraduate medical education, fostering research excellence, and delivering reliable clinical laboratory services. The department plays an integral role in the medical curriculum, providing comprehensive training in the fundamentals and advanced applications of biochemistry as they relate to human health and disease.

The MD Biochemistry program is structured to develop academically proficient, research-oriented, and ethically grounded medical biochemists. Postgraduate students are trained through a balanced curriculum that includes systematic theoretical instruction, extensive practical exposure, clinical correlation, and active participation in diagnostic laboratory operations. The department is equipped with modern infrastructure, including advanced analytical instruments and NABL-compliant laboratory systems, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in routine, specialized, and emergency biochemical investigations. The faculty comprises experienced academicians and diagnosticians committed to mentoring students, guiding dissertation work, and promoting scientific inquiry. Work Experience: 16 years of teaching experience

Dr. Juhi Aggarwal is an accomplished academician and clinical biochemist with extensive expertise in biochemical research, medical education, and laboratory quality management. She has served in key academic and administrative capacities, including as Professor and Head of Biochemistry and Laboratory Director at Santosh Deemed to be University, Ghaziabad, and Associate Professor at Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi.

Her scholarly contributions encompass more than ninety publications in Scopus- and Web of Science–indexed journals, with a research focus on oxidative stress, endocrinology, metabolic disorders, and the integration of artificial intelligence in health sciences. She has authored and co-authored several books, notably Recent Developments in Clinical Biochemistry & Nutrition, Artificial Intelligence: New Horizon in Health Sciences, Oxidative Stress and Adipocytokines in Diabetes Mellitus, and the Handbook on Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP).

Dr. Aggarwal holds multiple copyrights and patents approved by the Government of India, reflecting her commitment to innovation in biochemical education and diagnostics. A recipient of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Award (2025) for excellence in medical education, she is a life member of the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI), the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBI), and the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Her work continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of clinical biochemistry, translational research, and quality assurance in medical laboratories.

Her expertise lies in biochemistry, and she has played a pivotal role in shaping both undergraduate and postgraduate education in the field. Dr. Aggarwal is dedicated to fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence, research innovation, and holistic learning. Her commitment to student success and continuous professional development has made her a mentor to many aspiring medical professionals.
