Overview

The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and non-surgical management of oral and maxillofacial diseases. The department is equipped with advanced diagnostic technologies, including 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), Radiovisiography (RVG) and Digital Panoramic Imaging, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.

Our experienced faculty members are dedicated to the diagnosis and management of oral mucosal diseases, potentially malignant disorders and maxillofacial conditions. Through a combination of clinical expertise, modern technology and quality education, the department strives to provide excellent patient care while preparing students to become competent and confident dental professionals.

Dr. Gaurav Pratap Singh is Professor and Head, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Santosh Dental College and Hospital, Ghaziabad. He is a dedicated academician, clinician and researcher with extensive experience in oral healthcare, maxillofacial imaging and dental education. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and subsequently he earned his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral Medicine and Radiology from RRDC Bengaluru and VS Dental College, Bengaluru, respectively. 
Throughout his academic career, he has remained actively engaged in teaching, clinical practice and research with a strong commitment to advancing the field through innovation and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Singh possesses special expertise in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology; specially in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). He has contributed significantly to scientific literature through numerous publications in reputed national and international journals.
As a mentor and educator, Dr. Singh is committed to nurturing future dental professionals by fostering clinical excellence, critical thinking, and research aptitude among undergraduate and postgraduate students.

  • Best Paper Award for “Role of CBCT in Diagnosing Maxillofacial Pathologies” at Dentacon 3, Rishikesh.

Events

  • Organized a Guest Lecture on “CBCT and Interpretations” on 27th January 2026.
  • Organized a Walkathon (Community Rally on Oral Cancer Awareness) on 12th April 2025 to create awareness regarding oral cancer and promote community health education.
  • Organized a session on “Role of Imaging Modalities in Diagnosis of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders” on 13th September 2024 as part of National Skill Conclave 2024. The session focused on educating students about various imaging modalities used in diagnosing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, enhancing practical skills in image interpretation and fostering discussions on the latest advancements and best practices in TMJ diagnosis and management.
