Induction Programme of M.Sc. Implantology
Santosh Deemed to be University successfully organized the Induction Programme for the M.Sc. Implantology (July 2026 Batch) on 26th May 2026 at Maharaji Hall and the Medical Education Unit (MEU). The programme was further enriched by the prestigious visit of Ms. Petra Rumpf, Chair of the Board, Straumann Group along with distinguished representatives from global industry partners Straumann, Geistlich and Osseotouch.
The event aimed to formally welcome the new batch of students, provide an overview of the academic programme and strengthen international collaboration between academia and industry leaders in implant dentistry.
The session commenced with a formal welcome address by Dr. Ezhilrajan, Registrar, Santosh Deemed to be University who extended a cordial welcome to the distinguished dignitaries and the esteemed guest, Ms. Petra Rumpf, Chair of the Board, Straumann Group.
Dr. Ajay Sharma (APAID) presented a comprehensive overview of the M.Sc. Implantology programme, highlighting its structure, objectives and alignment with global standards in implant dentistry. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Dean, Santosh Dental College who shared the achievements and progress of the first batch of the programme, emphasizing its strong focus on clinical exposure, academic excellence and skill-based training.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. N. Mahalakshmi elaborated on the university’s vision and mission, emphasizing excellence in education, research, innovation and international collaborations through the Centre of Advanced Studies.
A special university presentation was showcased through a video highlighting the visionary leadership and journey of the Founder Chairman, Dr. P. Mahalingam along with the institution’s academic and professional milestones.
Mr. Sandeep Chaudhary, Country Head, Straumann India emphasized the growing importance of industry-academia partnerships in advancing implantology education and formally introduced the esteemed guest, Ms. Petra Rumpf. In her address, Ms. Petra Rumpf shared valuable insights on innovation in implantology, emerging global trends and the significance of collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners.
Ms. Petra Rumpf, APAID members and representatives from Straumann, Geistlich and Osseotouch were felicitated by the university leadership as a gesture of appreciation and continued collaboration.
The concluding remarks were delivered by Dr. Manoj Goyal, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor who appreciated the collaborative efforts and encouraged students to excel in the field of implantology. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. G. K. Gupta, APAID, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, organizers and participants.
A high tea was organized thereafter, providing an opportunity for informal interaction and networking among guests, faculty and students.
Subsequently, the induction process for the new batch was conducted at the Medical Education Unit (MEU) where students interacted with faculty members and industry representatives. The session also included completion of enrollment formalities such as document verification, issuance of admission letters, ERP registration and ID card generation efficiently facilitated by the Admission Cell in coordination with the Academic Section and APAID representatives.
The event marked an important milestone for the M.Sc. Implantology programme and further strengthened Santosh Deemed to be University’s global academic and industry collaborations in the field of advanced implantology education.
