Online Meeting with EAC, Philippines — MoU Signing

Santosh Deemed to be University hosted a formal online meeting with Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), Philippines on 17th April 2026. The meeting was convened with the primary objective of formalising a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions — marking a significant milestone in the University's ongoing commitment to building meaningful global academic partnerships.

The meeting commenced with a formal welcome from both sides followed by opening remarks from Dr. Anup Gogna, Advisor – IAC, who outlined the purpose and agenda of the session. Formal introductions were then presented by representatives of both institutions, establishing the key participants in this collaborative engagement.

The Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Manoj Goyal and the Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. N. Mahalakshmi shared valuable insights on potential areas of collaboration and highlighted the diverse academic opportunities available across departments at Santosh Deemed to be University for EAC students. They also extended a warm invitation to the EAC delegation for a campus visit and elaborated on the learning opportunities within the University's varied departments. The Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor further emphasised that Santosh University's breadth of departments — backed by strong academic and clinical expertise — is well-positioned to make any visit by the EAC delegation both enriching and impactful.

Dr. Anup Gogna invited the EAC representatives to share their queries and perspectives. The President of EAC shared that the institution operates two hostels across its campuses and hosts a considerable number of international students reflecting EAC's strong commitment to fostering global education. He extended a reciprocal invitation to Santosh University for a future visit to EAC and shared personal reflections from his earlier visit to India, offering a warm perspective on cross-cultural academic exchange.

Dr. Alka Agarwal, Dean – Medical provided a thorough overview of the regulatory framework governing medical education in India. She outlined the roles of the key government bodies overseeing the sector and the guidelines prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC). She also addressed the feasibility of internship opportunities for international students under current regulations and presented details of the Observership Programs offered by Santosh Deemed to be University — an important pathway for international students seeking hands-on clinical exposure.

Following substantive discussions on areas of mutual interest representatives from both institutions proceeded with the formal initiation of the MoU signing — a defining moment of the meeting. Dr. K. Ezhilrajan, Registrar, Santosh Deemed to be University led the signing on behalf of the University alongside the nominated representative from EAC. It was mutually agreed that scanned copies of the signed MoU would be exchanged after which both parties would complete the process and share the finalised document with each other.
