Visit of Love Without Reason (LWR) Team
Santosh Deemed to be University continues to expand its global outreach through meaningful collaborations that combine academic excellence with humanitarian impact. In this spirit the University and Santosh Hospital hosted a distinguished delegation from Love Without Reason (LWR), a USA-based charitable organization on 28th January 2026. The visit marked an important step toward planning and executing a comprehensive cleft care initiative aimed at transforming lives through advanced medical interventions.
The meeting convened under the leadership of Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Manoj Goyal was held at Santosh Hospital and the University campus. It brought together senior faculty members, clinical experts and administrative leaders alongside the visiting LWR team fostering a collaborative environment focused on healthcare delivery, operational excellence and social impact.
The primary objective of the visit was to plan and coordinate the upcoming Cleft Camp scheduled from 26th to 28th March 2026 at Santosh Hospital. The initiative reflected a shared commitment between Santosh University and LWR to provide specialized surgical care to patients in need particularly those affected by cleft lip and palate conditions.
The session commenced with a warm welcome extended to the LWR team followed by an institutional overview presented by the Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor. His address highlighted the University’s vision, robust healthcare infrastructure and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Further discussion emphasized Santosh Hospital’s clinical capabilities, multidisciplinary expertise and readiness to host large-scale healthcare initiatives.
A key highlight of the visit was an insightful presentation by the LWR representative Mr. Santosh Mathews who shared his extensive experience in cleft care services across multiple countries. The presentation provided valuable perspectives on global best practices, patient outreach strategies and the transformative impact of cleft surgeries on individuals and communities. This was followed by an engaging discussion with faculty of Santosh University focusing on clinical protocols, patient management and logistical planning to ensure the success of the upcoming camp.
In addition to clinical planning, dedicated discussions were held with the marketing and IT teams to design effective outreach strategies. These efforts aim to maximize patient participation and ensure that the initiative reaches underserved populations who can benefit from specialized care.
The visit also included a comprehensive tour of Santosh Hospital where the LWR team explored key departments such as Emergency Medicine, Operation Theatres, Intensive Care Units and Pediatric Wards. Faculty members and department heads provided detailed insights into workflows, facilities and patient care systems reinforcing the institution’s preparedness to support complex surgical interventions.
A special meeting was arranged with the Honorable Chairman, Dr. P. Mahalingam and Honorable Vice Chairman, Dr. Santosh Mahalingam at the University campus. During this interaction, the vision, mission and values of the institution were shared highlighting its dedication to societal service, innovation and excellence in healthcare education. The exchange further strengthened the foundation for a long-term partnership focused on impactful healthcare initiatives.
The visit concluded with a gesture of appreciation as mementos were presented to the LWR team followed by a hosted lunch. Both teams expressed optimism and mutual commitment toward the success of the upcoming cleft care program and future collaborations.
