The Government of India under section 10A (4) of the Dentists Act 1948, granted permission to start the BDS program with an intake of 40 students from the academic session 1995-96 in Santosh Dental College, Ghaziabad. Initially, the program started with 40 students. The Central Government granted permission to increase the student capacity from 40 to 100 in the batch of 2004–2005. The students are given a complete understanding of the biological and physical processes of oral health care. They learn the skills associated with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases related to the oral cavity. The students learn to serve society by improving the Dental and Oral Health of individuals. The associated Dental Hospital provides special Dental care in various specialties.
Santosh Dental College & Hospital has a sanctioned intake of 100 seats for BDS program & 27 seats for MDS program every year, as approved by the Dental Council of India. Ph.D. program is recognized by UGC.
