DECODE WORKSHOP (DECODING AND PREVENTING CV EVENTS IN DYSLIPIDEMIA MANAGMENT)

On 14th October 2022, Department of General Medicine, Santosh Medical College & Hospital, Ghaziabad Along with Delhi Diabetic Forum, conducted a “DECODE WORKSHOP”.

The aim of the CME was to spread the awareness regarding to all, with the preventing CV events in Dyslipidemia management, Blood glucose monitoring. The workshop included the one of the important agent in management of diabetes i.e., insulin and other topic of discussion was on dyslipidemia management by use of newer agent Bempedoic Acid. Dr. Ashok Kumar, Professor & Head, Medicine discussed the insulin therapy in patients with Diabetes Mellitus in which discussion on, what are the various types of premix insulins and how to use them in particular case scenarios, and practicality in using them well explained in detail, in addition to this Dr. Ravi Kumar (Asst. prof medicine) and Dr. Tenzin Nyandak (senior consultant physician Dept. of medicine) added their clinical experience in treating Diabetic patients. Dr. Shivani Bansal in her speech further enlighten regarding everyone on diabetes importance of dyslipidemia management and thereby preventing cardiovascular events associated with it and explained about how controlled Diabetes will reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and what are the various lipid lowering agents available and their indications to use, when to start treating dyslipidemia management and what are the new drug combinations available.

The Decode workshop was attended by around 100 participants involving Faculty members, UG students and Postgraduates. Department of Medicine offered sincere thanks to all the Speakers, Chairpersons, Students and staff members for their interactive participation and making the event successful for spreading the awareness regarding dyslipidemia management.
