Department of General Medicine, Santosh Medical College and Hospital in collaboration with Delhi Diabetic forum organized and conducted a Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Metabolic Diseases Awareness camp in the Department of general Medicine, Santosh Hospital Ghaziabad. Metabolic diseases are prevalent chronic non communicable diseases in the society and often go undiagnosed and untreated increasing the overall healthcare burden and contribute significantly to the cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Non-Communicable diseases need to be recognized in time which usually overlooked by the subject. Proper recognition and treatments of the aliments leads to increase in life expectancy of the person. During camp patient demographic features, BMI, weight, blood pressure waist hip ratios were estimated. Consultation, Random Blood Sugar testing, Glycosylated hemoglobin levels (HbA1C), Blood Pressure Measurement, Fundus Screening, BMI, lipid profile and ECG were done to estimate the cardiovascular risk in the population were done free of cost and many patients took benefit of the health camp.
Apart from Screening and treating our camp was also focused on making the patient aware of their illness and how prompt lifestyle modifications and regular testing and medications can help control the entities.
