Free Health Awareness Camp on Detection of Diabetes Mellitus

The Department of Biochemistry at Santosh Medical College organized a free Health Awareness Camp on the detection of Diabetes Mellitus on 25th July 2023. The camp aimed to raise awareness about diabetes, its early detection, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent and manage the condition. The event took place at G Block, Sector 12, Pratap Vihar, Ghaziabad, from 10 am to 1 pm.

NAAC Guidelines Compliance: The Health Awareness Camp was organized in accordance with the guidelines provided by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the program. The camp aimed to address the health needs of the local community while promoting healthcare awareness and inclusivity.

Camp Organizing Committee: The Health Awareness Camp was efficiently organized by the following committee members:

1.Dr. Juhi Aggarwal - Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry.

2.Mr. Manoj Kumar Tyagi - Lab Supervisor.

Support from Local Governing Body: The Health Awareness Camp received immense appreciation and support from the local governing body, particularly from Mr. Santram Yadav and Mrs. Seema Yadav, who were the elected Pradhans (Parshads) of Sector 12, Pratap Vihar, Ghaziabad. Their active involvement and encouragement played a significant role in the successful execution of the event.

Participation and Contribution: The camp saw active participation from the residents of Sector 12, as well as neighbouring areas. The organizing committee, along with the entire Biochemistry Department, worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the camp.

Beneficiaries and Impact: A total of 122 people benefited from the Health Awareness Camp. Participants received free health check-ups and screenings for diabetes. Educational sessions were conducted to inform attendees about diabetes, its risk factors, early symptoms, and the importance of regular health check-ups.

Dispatch of Reports: The reports from the health check-ups were promptly dispatched to the respective participants. Furthermore, the camp organizers ensured that the residents were informed about their reports by the following evening, promoting a sense of trust and responsibility.

The Free Health Awareness Camp on the detection of Diabetes Mellitus conducted by the Department of Biochemistry, Santosh Medical College, proved to be a resounding success. Through the collective efforts of the organizing committee, faculty members, technicians, and students, the camp contributed significantly to the health and well-being of the local community. Such initiatives not only align with NAAC guidelines but also reflect the commitment of the institution towards social responsibility and community service.
