  • 2023-11-09

On the 9th of November 2023, Thursday, the Department of Respiratory Medicine took a significant step towards community health by actively participating in a Health Camp, organized in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). The event unfolded at Central Park, Sector 9, Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad, spanning from 9 am to 5 pm.

Residents from the Department of Respiratory Medicine, specifically Dr. Pritam Singh (Junior Resident-2) and Dr. Vanshika (Junior Resident-1), played pivotal roles in providing consultations during the Health Camp. Their active involvement underscored the department's commitment to community health and wellness.

A total of 220 patients benefited from the services offered at the Health Camp. The Respiratory Medicine team conducted thorough evaluations, including sputum AFB testing, HIV testing, and monitoring of Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure for relevant patients. The camp aimed to address immediate health concerns and promote overall well-being.

Following the evaluations, personalized treatment plans were advised based on individual patient needs. Notably, free medicines were distributed to the patients, aligning with the prescribed treatments. This approach not only addressed the immediate health issues of the attendees but also contributed to the broader objective of making healthcare more accessible.

The Health Camp, organized by the Department of Respiratory Medicine in collaboration with NTEP, can be deemed a grand success. The substantial turnout of patients and the comprehensive services provided reflected the effectiveness of such community health initiatives. The commitment of the Respiratory Medicine team and the positive impact on the attendees underscored the importance of such endeavors.

In conclusion, the Department of Respiratory Medicine's active involvement in the Health Camp demonstrated its dedication to community health and well-being. Such initiatives play a crucial role in extending medical services to those who may face barriers in accessing healthcare. The success of this event serves as an encouraging example for future collaborative efforts between healthcare departments and community health programs.
