The Dept of Prosthodontic celebrated Prosthodontic week (21st -25th Jan’23) on Occasion of Indian Prosthodontist Day (22nd Jan’23).
An outreach activity, Geriatric Oral Health Awareness camp was organized on 21st Jan, 2023 in conjunction with Dept of Community Dentistry. A health talk was given by Dr Mansi Singh, Sr lecturer Dept of Prosthodontics and checkup of the rural patients of Ghaziabad was conducted. A total of 53 patients were screened and educated about importance of replacement of teeth in improvement of overall quality of life.
A soap carving was conducted on 23rd January for 1st yr BDS students. The students were given 2 hrs to carve on the theme “Nature”. There was 30 participants.
Akanksha Sharma, BDS 1st yr got the first prize in this event.
The week culminated with a mega academic event conducted on 25th January in Maharaja Hall. A CDE program was conducted . Dr Pooran Chand, HOD, Dept Of Prosthodontics at King George medical University, Lucknow and Dr Neeta Pasricha, HOD , Dept Of Prosthodontics at ITS-CDSR Murad Nagar were the guest speakers of the program. Both the guest speaker are eminent personalities in the field of Prosthodontics. Dr Pooran Chand is a Former EC member of Indian Prosthodontic society and former president of Indian Dental association Lucknow branch. Sir spoke about “Obstructive Sleep Apnoea”.
Dr Neeta Pasricha is currently running her third term as EC member in Indian prosthodontic society and has also served as President Indian prosthodontic society , Chandigarh branch in the past. Ma’am spoke about “BIOMECHANICS IN DENTAL IMPLANTS”.
The program was well attended and well appreciated by Undergraduate students, Postgraduate students and intern of the dental college. The program began with a small inauguration and lighting of the Lamp, a welcome address was given by Dean Dental, Dr Akshay Bhargava following which the scientific activity started, the speakers were felicitated and a vote of thanks was given by Dr Puja Malhotra, HOD , Dept Of Prosthdontics, Santosh Deemed to be University.
