Department of General Medicine, Santosh Deemed to Be University, Organized an “International Guest Speaker Program” on 7th November 2022 at Maharaja Hall, Santosh Medical College. Prof. (Dr.) Stuart Ralston, editor of very well-known Davidson’s Principles and Practice of Medicine, has been the Guest Speaker of the program. Prof. (Dr.) Stuart Ralston is Professor of Rheumatology, Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine, Institute of Genetics and Cancer University of Edinburgh, Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, UK.
The program started with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar, Head of the Department of General Medicine. Dr. Tripta Bhagat, Vice Chancellor, Santosh Deemed to be University, Dr. Ashok Sharma, Pro-V. C. Santosh Deemed to be University and Dr. Alka Aggarwal, Dean, Santosh Deemed to be University, welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Stuart Ralston & Felicitated the Guest with Memento.
Prof. (Dr.) Stuart Ralston, given his deliberation on “Clinical cases in Rheumatology and Bone disease” and described multiple Clinical cases in Rheumatology and Bone disease like, Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout, Giant Cell arteritis, osteoarthritis etc. He did interactive discussion with undergraduate and post graduate students of the university. Also, he summarized the insights of latest 24th edition of ‘Davidson's Principles and Practice of Medicine in which CBME curriculum has been incorporated as per the need of the hour.
The whole program was attended and appreciated by more than 200 participants which included Undergraduate students, post Graduate students and faculty from various departments of Santosh Deemed to be University. Dr. Shivani Bansal, Professor, Medicine, presented the vote of thanks of the program.
