NATIONAL SANCON 2022-Department of Biochemistry

November 16, 2022, Dr Eram Hussain Pasha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Santosh Deemed to be University (Ghaziabad) was a guest speaker on the topic ‘ flux, Impact and fate of Halogenated Xenobiotic compounds in the gut’ at NATIONAL SANCON 2022. The lecture was given in Maharaja Hall which was attended by all faculty and under- graduate and post- graduate students. The session was chaired by Dr Juhi Aggarwal, Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry and Dr Shaktibala Dutta , Professor and Head , Department of Pharmacology. Overall it was an informative session which was followed by the felicitation of the speaker as well as the chairpersons.

The session highlighted that a xenobiotic is a chemical substance found within an organism that is not naturally produced or expected to be present within the organism. It can also cover substances that are present in much higher concentrations than are usual.102 students participated in the event.
