oral and head-neck cancer: advanced management

ENT department of Santosh Medical College & Hospital participated in an CME organized by Jaypee Hospitals in association with ENT Surgeons Association, Gzb Branch on 17/02/2024.

Objective of the CME was to impart knowledge and create awareness about the oral and head & neck cancers and approach towards their advanced management.

The CME was was held under the guidance of Dr. Sushil Gaur( Secretary ENT Club, Ghz & Prof, SMCH ) and Dr. Chaudhary (President, ENT Surgeons Association, Ghaziabad).

 The Guest Speakers invited for the CME were Dr Ashish Goel (Director, Dept of Surgical Oncology, Jaypee Hospital,Noida) and Dr Abhishek Gulia (Additional Director, Dept of Radiation Oncology, Jaypee Hospital,Noida)

The Convener was Dr. Abhay Kumar Singh (Associate Professor). It was attended by consultants of Ghaziabad region, faculties and  PGs of various medical colleges and hospitals of Delhi-NCR. Following the welcome address, the eminent guest speakers deliberated on various aspects of oral cancers and different modalities of their management. The spotting of oral cancers by Surgeons and Oncologist and Multimodality management of cancer with modalities of surgery and radiation were discussed in detail. The highlight was to detect, diagnose and treat oral and head& neck cancers in their early stages and to offer prompt medical and surgical treatment.

Tangible Outcomes:

Dissemination of knowledge about the biopsy of the suspicious lesion holds they keypoint.

The attendees were educated that early detection is the key to favourable outcome in case of oral, head & neck cancer surgeries.

Well planned adjuvant or neo-adjuvant chemotherapy along with surgical resections can bring out the best even in advanced malignancies of oral & head & neck cancers.
