The lecture was conducted to make the undergraduate understand the importance of Oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) include a group of conditions that affect the oral mucosa with an increased risk of malignancy. An OPMD could contribute as a risk factor for the development of oral cancer. Secondary prevention therefore is the most important aspect, particularly patient education. Attention to risky lifestyles could contribute to halting the progression of an OPMD.
