Rashtriya Balika Diwas-National Girl Child Day

Santosh deemed to be University; Ghaziabad organized an awareness session on National Girl Child Day on 24 January 2023. The session- To make students aware about gender discrimination, female foeticide and gender related problems in the country.• The event was organized in collaboration with Rajkiye kanya inter college Vijay Nagar Ghaziabad, U.P. It was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad.

•Event was executed at Rajkiye kanya inter college ,Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad.

•The post graduate students and interns in the department highlighted the importance of this event and problem of gender inequality in India.

•The interns posted in the department delivered speech about the importance of this day and the need of women empowerment in our country.

•We also explained them about the problems related to menstruation faced by women, like infections, anemia, social issues and highlighted the importance of menstrual hygiene.

•We also created awareness various government health programmes and schemes that are being implemented for women and adolescents, like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Menstrual Hygiene Scheme, weekly iron and folic acid supplementation etc.

•Students were also shown videos educating about menstrual problems and about girl child education.

•All the students took interest in the activity and were influenced the right way.

•More than 100 children were present in the venue and many staff members also attended the event.

•Feedback was collected at the end of the event.
