Trainings conducted in February 2024

• On 07 February 2024, a Fire safety mock drill was conducted which was followed by fire safety training. The drill checked the preparation of the blood centre towards any fire accident. It showed the gaps in knowledge and practice of new staff who were re-trained for fire safety procedures and protocol.  

• On 08 February, training on Donor room procedures was conducted. Donor selection, selection of bag, site preparation, phlebotomy, sample collection and documentation were discussed.

• On 15 February 2024 training on Adverse Donor Reactions was conducted. Early identification, and management was discussed

• On 20 February, Dr Amit Varma gave the orientation of all blood centre equipment with procedures of maintenance, performance check and breakdown policy.

• On 22 February 2024 training program was conducted for the blood centre staff on Proper documentation and Record keeping. This was a need-based training done in response to the non-conformity observed during the external audit. Importance of good record keeping was highlighted.
