World Dietetics Day

Santosh Medical College and Hospital organized a noteworthy event on World Dietetics Day,10 January on the theme Role of Dieticians and Nutritionists in Public Health, bringing together students and teachers from the BSc Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Course. The event aimed to foster awareness and knowledge in the field of dietetics and nutrition.

The event was well-attended by students from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of the BSc Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics program. The dedicated teachers Ms. Deepshikha Malik, Ms. Gurkiran Kaur, and Ms. Yogita Nagar were also present, contributing to the overall success of the occasion.

Activities: -

Presentation by Faculty: The faculty members enlightened the students with deep knowledge of the field and the diverse roles of dieticians and nutritionists. The faculty also presented on the topic “Decreasing and degrading micronutrient content in food” and also shared information on the importance of incorporating millets in the diet.

Presentations by Students: Students from each year had the opportunity to showcase their understanding and insights into various aspects of clinical nutrition and dietetics. Their presentations covered a range of topics related to this year’s theme including the importance of balanced diets, dietary management of specific medical conditions, and emerging trends in the field.

Interactive Sessions: The event included interactive sessions where students and teachers engaged in meaningful discussions, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Questions were raised, and participants exchanged ideas, creating a dynamic and stimulating atmosphere.
