World Health Day Debate Competition

A debate competition was held by the department of Community Medicine on the occasion of World Health Day, 2023. The event was held on 10 April, Monday. The topic of the debate was “Is Digital Technology Making Students’ Lives Better: Digitalisation a Boon or Bane”. A total of 10 interns and UG students took part in the debate, out of which 4 students spoke for the motion and 6 students spoke against the motion. The participants were judged on the basis of content, voice quality, clarity of speech, confidence and overall performance. The winners were-

• 1st position- Sara

• 2nd position- Sohani

• 3rd position- Arshdeep

The judges of the competition were Dr. Hasan N. Zaidi (Professor and HOD, Community Medicine), Dr. Deepika Agrawal (Professor, Community Medicine), Dr. Geeta Gupta (Professor, Microbiology). Participants motivation was boosted by the presence of Dr. Alka Agarwal (Dean Medical). All the participants were given certificates. The winners were also rewarded with prizes. The special guests invited for the event were Dr. Alka Agarwal (Dean Medical), Dr. Shalabh Gupta (Dean Academics), Dr. Jyoti Batra (Dean Research), Dr. Gajendra K. Gupta (Professor, Community Medicine and exam controller), Dr. Mahinder Anand (HOD Anatomy), Dr. Ashutosh (HOD Microbiology) and Dr. Shaktibala (HOD Pharmacology). More than 100 people were present in the event. All the faculty, students and staffs were provided with refreshments also. All faculties, PGs and interns contributed in making the event successful.
