ENT Department organised World Hearing Day on 03/03/2023 at LT complex of Santosh Medical College and Hospital.HOD, Dr. Tarun Malhotra introduced the topic, highlighted the magnitude of the problem globally and mentioned inspirational legends who overcame the challenge of hearing handicap.Dean (Medical) Dr. Alka Agrawal emphasised the importance of prevention of hearing loss and screening methods for early identification and rehabilitation measures.The invited Guest Faculty was Dr. Sarvejeet Singh, Sr. ENT Consultant, Sarman Hospital, Gurugram and Academic Director, Allen NExT. He elaborated on “Hearing Loss among young people and preventive measures”. His unique teaching methodology consisting of three dimensional photographs and animations made the presentation most interesting.ENT PGs and faculty member performed stage plays highlighting the burning issues of “Noise Induced Hearing Loss” and “Presbyacusis”. There were more than 35 Posters created by PGs and UGs. These pertinent posters comprehensively covered the entire spectrum of Hearing Loss, its ill effects and protective measures.The Attendees were the management team, HoDs and Faculty members of several departments, PGs and around 70 UGs. The academic event was informative and highly appreciated.
