World Leprosy Day-Department of Dermatology Venereology and Leprosy

World Leprosy Day is observed on 30th January to raise awareness of the disease and call for strategies to end leprosy. The “Act now: End Leprosy” campaign calls on governments, decision-makers, donors and the global health community to prioritize leprosy elimination efforts to realize zero leprosy goals.Department of Dermatology organized an online CME and Awareness Program on the occasion of World Leprosy Day on 30th January, 2023, 2:45 PM –3:25PM at Santosh Hospital, Ghaziabad.Dr. V. K. Garg (Professor & HoD) initiated the session and introduced this year’s theme “Act now: End Leprosy”. Dr. Srishti Agrawal (Assistant Professor) elaborated on early diagnosis of Leprosy. Dr.Gulshant Panesar (Assistant Professor) discussed about the current status in Leprosy management. Dr.Sonali Saxena (Senior Resident) briefly discussed Strategies to end Leprosy. Finally, Dr V. K. Garg took up questions from the audience and concluded the session.It was a very imformative session with good audience participation, making it a successful event.
