On 13 MARCH 2023 Department of Respiratory Medicine, Santosh Medical College celebrated World No Smoking Day 2023. The theme this year is #QUITandWIN.The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Manish Sharma HOD Respiratory Medicine, Dr. Anil HOD ICU and Critical Care, Dr. Sarkar ICU and Critical Care team, Dr. Mahendran C.S. Assistant Professor Respiratory Medicine, Dr. Ankit Pandey Assistant Professor Respiratory Medicine.All Post graduate students from Department of Respiratory Medicine Dr. Eshutosh, Dr. Pooja, Dr. Prekshy, Dr. Vidushi, Dr. Snehashish, Dr. Swati, Dr. Anmol, Dr. Pritam and Dr. Ramanpreet and interns from BPT and BOT department. 60 odd members of public, patients and attenders from young to elderly in the Santosh Medical college hospital lobby actively interacted with the speaker.Dr. Mukul Saini’s efforts to enlighten the public about the dangers of tobacco use are truly commendable. By taking a proactive approach and organizing and educational program on the ill-effects of first and second hand smoke exposure, and educating about tobacco smoking cessation therapy and pharmacological interventions, he has shown his commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the community. The program was concluded by breaking two cigarettes in order to emphasize the ill effects of tobacco smoking.
