The world oral health day was celebrated on 21st March 2022 by the Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Akshay Bhargava, Dean, Santosh Dental College, and Shweta Bali, Prof. & Head. The Dental Council of India along with the Indian Society of Periodontics (ISP) had taken a wonderful initiative to celebrate this day for creating awareness among the students about oral health by providing a presentation on “Importance of Oral Health” which was presented by Dr. Priyanka Aggarwal, Professor, Department of Periodontics & Oral Implantology. The lecture was attended by a total of 72 participants which included undergraduates, postgraduates & Dental hygienist, Students. A wide array of competitions was organized ranging from REEL making to handmade poster making based on the theme of “be proud of your mouth” to match the fervor of the event. A Free Treatment camp was organized in the Department of Periodontics in which 62 patients availed free oral checkups followed by oral prophylaxis. A Patient sensitization talk was arranged for the benefit of the patients to educate and spread awareness about maintenance of oral hygiene by advising them on correct choice of oral hygiene aids and their usage.
