The Department of IHBT, Pathology and Biochemistry organized a seminar on World TB Day, 24th March 2023, with the theme "Yes, We Can End TB". The seminar aimed to increase awareness about tuberculosis, its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Mayurika Tyagi, Associate Professor, Department of IHBT. Dr. Tyagi emphasized the need to end the stigma around TB and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Sumit Chandra, Dr. Pratibha Chaudhary, Dr. Geetanjali Yadav, Dr. Saumya Singh, Residents in Pathology, gave an informative talks on pathophysiology, testing and diagnosis, TB screening and testing for healthcare personnel and treatment of TB and drug-resistant TB. Finally, Dr. Raj Narayan Gupta, Associate Professor in Biochemistry, gave a talk on molecular diagnostic techniques with special reference to infectious diseases. He talked about the use of PCR and other molecular techniques in the diagnosis of TB and other infectious diseases.
