To be eligible for the PG Diploma in Medical Librarianship program, candidates typically need to meet the following criteria:

Course duration is 1 year.
UG Degree with B.L.I.Sc. (Library and Information Science) from recognized University.

Unit – I: INFORMATION SOURCES AND SERVICES IN PROFESSIONS AND DISCIPLINES

Unit – II: ACADEMIC LIBRARIES/SPECIAL LIBRARIES AND INFORMATION CENTERS

Unit – III: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TOOLS AND APPLICATIONS (Web Design and Web Programming) Medical librarians need to understand web site design as they will be working with web sites in their library and managing web technologists who will help them deliver and provide good access to their information.

Unit – IV: ONLINE SEARCHING – Medical librarians work with an enormous amount of databases, so having solid searching skills is essential to most reference positions.

Unit – V: INFORMATION STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL

Practical: Library Software’s – Classification Schemes: DDC – CCC.
